Faro
The capital of Algarve is sited on Portugal's most southerly headland. Faro lives on salt, fishing,
it's cork factories and marble works, food processing and canning, it's plastic and building
industries.
After his victory against the Moors in 1249, King Alfons III presented the city with a
municipal charter.
